Everybody needs a lift sometimes

Sometimes we get down about the current state of our world and community. Caustic politics, the division within communities, and all the bad news directed at us by the media.

Science has proven that one of the best things to help our own mindset is to take some action about the things we worry about and things that concern us.

Here’s a chance to do just that

Celebrate Diversity Fox Cities is seeking to train more Facilitators for our increasingly popular Community Conversations.

Facilitator Training of Community Conversations help to Increase Leadership Skills, Build your Resume, Educate about Diversity and Inclusion, Increase Self Awareness, and Grow Trust in Others.

Do you enjoy in-depth conversations with people? Are you a good listener, love learning, and can work tactfully with diverse people with a variety of perspectives? Could you challenge yourself to remain neutral as you facilitate these discussions? You may be a good candidate for Facilitator Training for Community Conversations.

Community Conversations, (also known as Diversity Circles), provide opportunities for diverse people to talk respectfully, share their opinions and experiences on a variety of topics, and brainstorm ways to make a difference in their communities. Sponsored by Celebrate Diversity Fox Cities, these community conversations have been offered for many years to various organizations and the general public with our trained volunteer facilitators leading these small group discussions.

Facilitator Training is 10-12 hours long and is scheduled to accommodate the schedules of those enrolling. Various curricula are used and adapted for Community Conversations from www.everyday-democracy.org.

Once trained, facilitators work in pairs to guide future CDFC community conversations, help create the plan for event(s) for which they volunteer, and process how each session went. Additionally, anonymous exit surveys are filled out by participants of the Community Conversations so facilitators can continually improve their effectiveness.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve your community! Read below for more information about our next Facilitator Training.
